Several high school baseball teams were in Flippin on Friday for the second day of the Forrest Wood Wood Bat Classic. Cotter fell to Bakersfield 12-0, Norfork lost to Izard County 15-6, Flippin breezed past Green Forest 16-6, and Viola fell to Salem 13-2 in six innings.
Two area schools began action in the Ozarks Baseball Classic at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. Melbourne shut out Midland 13-0, and Marshall lost to Nemo Vista 12-1.
In other high school baseball, Dora had a tough road trip. The Falcons went to Alton and suffered a 7-1 defeat.
Gainesville’s softball team also ended up with a road loss. The Lady Bulldogs fell to Houston by a final of 12-2.
