Farmers & Merchants Bank has been added to the Leading Edge Aviation Foundation’s (The Foundation) LIFT Force by supporting scholarships for Mountain Home students pursuing aerospace industry careers.
The $1,000 donation by Farmers and Merchants Bank goes directly towards boosting graduates towards aviation careers. The number of scholarships available this spring will depend on more donations between now and May 1.
The Foundation currently provides two types of annual scholarships. The “Experience” scholarships cover attendance at summer sessions of intense aviation experiences which advance students’ STEM academic skills, and “Academic” scholarships for graduates pursuing further education toward any aerospace industry career.
Last year’s Academic scholarship winner, Hunter Bahr, is completing his first year of aeronautical engineering study at Missouri Science and Technology University with a goal to work for Space X or NASA. Bahr made the Dean’s List this year and with the help of LIFT Force members like Farmers & Merchants Bank, he will receive further support towards his goals.

Bolding, Baxter Health and Bob and Lt. Col. Mary Walker.
The Leading Aviation Foundation, a 501(c)(3) IRS certified charity, depends on tax deductible donations from local residents and businesses to provide access to aviation. The aviation STEM courses are available to students in grades 9-12 and participants are eligible for all three types of education scholarships leading to aviation industry careers.
