Favorable conditions are expected throughout the majority of north central Arkansas for viewing Monday’s total solar eclipse. According to the National Weather Service office in North Little Rock, the latest image is showing a high chance of viewing the eclipse for the entire portion of the Twin Lakes Area that’s in the path of totality. The only part of north central Arkansas not able to view the eclipse in its entirety is the north central and northwestern portions of Boone County.

Chances for viewing get smaller the further south a motorist travels in Arkansas. The National Weather Service is showing a medium-to-high chance for favorable view around Little Rock and a low-to-medium chance in the southeastern portion of the state.

According to eclipse2024.org, the start time of the partial phase in Mountain Home is 12:36. Totality will begin at 1:53 and last for three minutes, 11 seconds. The sky should return to normal just after 3.
