On Tuesday, the City of Marshall along with Searcy County, received a grant from the Federal Economic Development Administration for $1.675 million. The grant will be used to renovate an old shirt factory, which has been closed since 2019, to produce frozen foods for retail sale including frozen pie shells, sandwich products for vendors and breakfast sandwiches and baked goods for grocery warehouses.
Searcy County Judge Tony Horton spoke with KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News to discuss the importance of this new industry coming to the area.
