1 dead, 1 injured after motorcycles crash in Stone County

One Jonesboro man was killed, and another was injured when their motorcycles crashed Sunday afternoon in rural Stone County. Seventy-year-old Jerry Hardin was pronounced dead, and 57-year-old Christopher Cook was transported to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

According to the Arkansas State Police, Hardin and Cook were traveling on Arkansas Highway 9. Hardin’s motorcycle reportedly collided with the rear of Cook’s motorcycle. Both motorcycles exited the right side of the roadway.

The road was dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the 2:15 p.m. accident.
