Baxter Health welcomes Dr. Heath Broussard to Baxter Health Heart and Vascular Clinic

Baxter Health has announced board-certified vascular surgeon Heath J. Broussard, MD has joined the Baxter Health Heart and Vascular Clinic. He joins the practice of Dr. F. Michael Bauer, Dr. James Munn, Dr. Kent Nachtigal and nurse practitioners Emily Brown and Kathy Prinner.

Dr. Broussard spoke to KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News to discuss what vascular surgery is and procedures he hopes to bring to the area.

Dr. Broussard states they have already completed three procedures locally which patients would have otherwise traveled out of state for.

Prior to moving to Mountain Home, Dr. Broussard practiced in Jackson, TN. With a special interest in endovascular techniques to treat diseases of the blood vessels, Dr. Broussard operates on complex abdominal aortic aneurysms and other complex vascular surgeries involving the mesenteric and subclavian arteries as well as performs carotid bypass surgery. His ongoing research and publications in vascular surgery treatments along with his extensive experience in the specialty help Baxter Health strengthen its position as the leading provider of heart and vascular services in north central Arkansas and southern Missouri.

Dr. Broussard states his goal is to help his patients have a better quality of life.

A graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Dr. Broussard attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his general surgery residency and vascular surgery specialty training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Dr. Broussard has worked to become a consultant, speaker, physician proctor and clinical representative proctor for Terumo Aortic, Medtronic Spine/AV and Silk Road Medical.

In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Broussard has two adult children and enjoys aviation and playing guitar in his free time.
