Wednesday track results include Yellville-Summit junior girls winning conference title

Three area schools sent their junior high track teams to Eureka Springs on Wednesday for the 2A-1 Junior Conference Meet.
Yellville-Summit won the girls’ title. Cotter ended up second, and Ozark Mountain finished tied for fourth place.
Individually, Cotter’s Izzy Wilhite won the triple jump; Blair Castle of Yellville Summit won the long jump, the high jump, the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles and the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes; Yellville-Summit’s Lila Hurley won the pole vault; and Yellville-Summit’s Piper Bone won the shot put. Cotter’s team of Mackenzie McGehee, Liah Rudisill, Marlee Dutcher and Addison Wilhite won the 4×800-meter relay.
On the boys’ side, Yellville-Summit took third place, Cotter finished sixth, and Ozark Mountain was seventh. The team championship went to Life Way Christian. Troy Devore of Yellville-Summit had the top individual performance from the area as he won the pole vault.

Bergman won the girls’ championship. Valley Springs ended up fourth, and Flippin took eighth place.
Individually, Bergman’s Kyna See won the 800-meter run and the triple jump, Jacey Halitzka of Bergman won the shot put, Valley Springs’ Blair Kendall won the 200-meter dash, and Raylee Rodman of Valley Springs won the long jump. Valley Springs also had a team that won the 4×200-meter relay.
On the boys’ side, Flippin finished fifth, and Valley Springs was sixth. The title went to Green Forest. Among the area athletes, Flippin’s Broderick Warnock had the top performance as he won the high jump.

Three other area schools competed in the 3A-2 Junior Conference Meet at Pocahontas.
Mountain View won the girls’ title. Salem ended up second, and Melbourne took fifth place.
Among the indiviudal performances, Savannah Sheedy of Melbourne won the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles and the pole vault; Mountain View’s Erin Akins won the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs; and Addie Davis of Mountain View won the high jump, the long jump and the triple jump.
Melbourne went home with the boys’ title. Salem finished third, and Mountain View was seventh.
Salem’s Ferris Thweatt won the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, Carson Cadenbach of Salem won the discus, Melbourne’s Josh Hammock won the pole vault and the triple jump, and Payton Siddons of Melbourne won the shot put. Salem’s Lukas Kemp, Connor Muir, Tripp Martin and Aiden Province won the 4×100-meter relay; and Hammock, Hunter Moats, Mason Wren and Beckham Davis won the 4×400-meter relay.
