MHHS Band brings home top honors at State Concert Contest

On Wednesday, the Mountain Home High School (MHHS) Band won 1st place in Class 6A at the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association (ASBOA) State Concert Band Contest held in Bryant.

In addition to earning the highest score and title of State Champions in their class, the band scored a Superior 1st Division Rating and qualified for the ASBOA Distinguished Ensemble Award for the superior ratings they earned at both the state marching & concert competitions in the 2023-24 school year.

The MHHS Band also earned the Class 6A – 2025 Honor Band selection, in which they will be the featured band at the end of the 6A state contest next year, along with performing as the final band in their classification and being allowed to play additional musical selections in addition to their adjudicated pieces.

The band will perform their end of the year concert April 28 at 2:30 in the afternoon at the The Sheid on the campus of ASU-Mountain Home.

The concert is free and the public is invited to attend.
