A Stone County man has been arrested after taking his sister and her one-year-old baby from their home. Twenty-two-year-old Joshua David Younger of Mountain View is jailed on four charges from the April 9th incident.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Younger allegedly came into the house where his sister, brother-in-law and the baby live around 2:00 AM and woke everyone up to pray. The brother-in-law told a 9-1-1 dispatcher Younger assaulted him when he refused to read the bible and he fought with the much larger Younger until he broke free to call for help.
The victim says Younger then grabbed his sister, drug her to his truck and forced her inside, along with the baby. As Younger sped away, his sister fell out of the truck, but the baby was still on the lap of another female in the vehicle.
A deputy made a traffic stop on Younger’s truck a short time later and Younger was the only person in the vehicle. He told the deputy the baby was in his house a few hundred yards away. Deputies found the baby there with the female that had been in the truck.
During questioning, she told deputies she told Younger “this was wrong.” She also told of the assault of the victim, Younger “putting” his sister in the truck, her falling out of the truck and that she had to hold the baby as he drove away.
Younger is facing a felony charge of interference with custody along with two misdemeanor counts of assault in the third degree and one misdemeanor count of false imprisonment. His bond is set at $200,000.
