Mountain Home City Clerk Scott Liles recently announced the municipal City Code has been updated and is accessible now online through the city’s website.
The municipal code is a collection of all city ordinances, organized by subject for ease of reference by the public. Mountain Home’s updated latest Code is dated March 2024 and is the first update to be published in three years.
Liles says, “The City Code is a great reference for citizens and officials alike. I always tell people it’s your go-to handbook for city-related questions. Whether it’s something as broad as how city government operates or as granular as if you can have a certain type of animal in the city, the Code gives you those answers. It’s always the first reference I check when researching a topic in my office.”
New additions to the Mountain Home City Code include entries on the requirements for securing empty buildings, regulating unsanitary conditions and addressing short-term rentals. Entries about the Downtown Entertainment District and the city’s noise ordinance have also been revised and expanded. The revisions affected 62 pages in the 400-page document.
Liles says “After three years, the Code was past due for an update. In the process of getting this most recent update published, I’ve already found items that will need to be addressed in the next update, which will likely be in December or early next year. It’s a never-ending process.”
The updated City Code can be found at cityofmountainhome.com/municipal-code, or in print at the City Clerk’s office.
