A man who allegedly assaulted two women and took a vehicle belonging to one of them appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court last Monday.
Twenty-nine-year-old Aaron Riviere who lists an address in Cherokee Village entered a not guilty plea to two counts of second-degree assault, theft of property and driving on a suspended license.
He was ordered to reappear April 29.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Mountain Home police officers responded to reports of assaults and vehicle theft at a residence along Bluemont Drive on March 29.
One woman living in the house told police that Riviere had left the scene but that he lived in Sharp County and she felt he might be headed in that direction.
A be-on-the-lookout was broadcast and Riviere was stopped while in the stolen vehicle in Salem.
He was listed in the probable cause affidavit as being on parole when the most recent incident occurred.
According to court documents, Riviere has had criminal cases opened on him in Sharp County since 2012 with charges including possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting arrest, drug possession, theft of property and helping inmates at the Sharp County jail escape.
