A Baxter County man was arrested last week on an accusation of slashing another vehicle’s tires in a road rage incident. Fifty-six-year-old Jon Falls of rural Mountain Home was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center April 21 and released nearly 2 1/2 hours later after posting a bond of $5,000.
According to the incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, 911 dispatch received a call of a road rage incident on Tracy Ferry Road. The caller claimed a pickup truck passed him, and the driver slammed on the brakes, leading the caller to hit the truck. The driver then exited the truck, allegedly threatened the victim and his passenger with a knife, slashed the tires on the vehicle and took the victim’s keys.
A deputy and two Arkansas state troopers traveled to the residence where the truck’s license plate checked back to. The male at the residence, identified as Falls, reportedly denied knowing anything about the incident, but he gave the victim’s keys to one of the troopers. Falls was then taken into custody.
While being booked at the detention center, Falls claimed the driver of the other vehicle attempted to run him over, and he wanted to press charges. Falls also claimed to have video from his residence to support his claim.
Falls is facing charges of first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree terroristic threatening, breaking or entering and reckess driving.
