On Friday, the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas along with Arvest Bank and their Million Meals Program, will be raising funds to support childhood hunger initiatives through a one-day fundraising blitz called Feed the Pack. Volunteers will be located at the corner of Cardinal and Highway 62 in Mountain Home as well as several area storefronts collecting donations. In support of this initiative, Mountain Home Mayor, Hillrey Adams, proclaimed Friday as Feed the Pack Day. The proclamation emphasizes the fact that 16.2% of Baxter County residents are reported to be food insecure and 1,980 children in Baxter and Marion Counties combined are food insecure.Jeff Quick, CEO of the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, and Ashley Hambleton, Branch Sales Manager at Arvest Bank and board member of FBNCA , spoke with KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News to discuss the fundraiser.
