Last week, a Jonesboro man was sentenced to 45 years in prison in connection to his wife’s murderer.

This comes after 46-year-old Andre A. Isabell pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the stabbing death of 44-year-old Samantha Phillips. On May 15, 2023, Jonesboro police were called to the Walgreens located at the corner of Highland Drive and Main Street after Isabell told employees, “She is dead.” When asked who was dead, Isabell reportedly said his wife. “I killed her, and Satan told me to do it,” Isabell was quoted as saying in the affidavit. Police went to the couple’s home on Krewson and found Phillips lying in bed with several blunt-force trauma injuries and a stab wound to her neck.

Andre A. Isabell will serve 45 years in prison, Prosecuting Attorney Sonia F. Hagood of the Second Judicial District said Friday.
