Man being booked into jail gets additional charges for throwing toilet water on jailers

A Baxter County man being booked into the Baxter County Detention Center has picked up additional charges after allegedly throwing toilet water on two jailers. Twenty-two-year-old Devon Michael Elliott of rural Mountain Home was originally arrested after he walked into someone’s home while intoxicated.

According to incident reports from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Elliott was awaiting to be booked into the jail because he was very intoxicated when he was first brought in. After having his booking photo taken, he started back to the holding cell when a jailer told Elliott there were some questions he needed to answer. He became upset and said “I’m going to crush your (expletive) skull into this wall.”

After being put into a cell, Elliott starter throwing water out of the cell’s bean hole. Two jailers were able to turn the water off to the cell, but not before Elliott filled up a cup with toilet water and threw it on the heads of the two jailers.

Elliott was originally arrested after walking into a residence on State Highway 5 North in the Midway area while intoxicated. The homeowner was asleep on the couch and said Elliott let himself in the front door, which was not locked, and laid down on the couch.

Elliott is facing charges of aggravated assault on a correctional facility officer, terroristic threatening, impairing the operations of a vital public facility, criminal trespass and public intoxication. He is also being held on a failure to appear charge. He is being held on bonds totaling $26,080.

Elliott was arrested in 2022 in Stone County when he allegedly attacked a woman who was 37-weeks pregnant. The case was eventually nolle prossed, meaning the case was dropped, after the victim decided she no longer wanted to proceed with the case.
