The Baxter County Historical and Genealogical Society has a new home for its museum and archives facility. The society, currently in its 50th year of existence, has departed from its previous location on Baker Street in downtown Mountain Home and has moved to 300 Bomber Boulevard, the former home of That Print Shop.
Kevin Bodenhamer and David Benedict of the Historical Society were recent guests of the Talk of the Town on KTLO-FM. Bodenhamer says they received a lot of assistance in the moving process from several in and outside Baxter County.

This will be the third location for the society’s museum. The original location on Main Street in Gassville opened in 2006, and they relocated to Baker Street in 2012.
Benedict and Bodenhamer say one of the desires of Historical Society officials is to have some of the museum’s exhibits rebuilt in the new location.

Benedict says the new building will include multiple avenues for patrons to learn and research more about Baxter County.

The new museum and archives facility is set to be open to the public in June.
