The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive Wednesday from 5 until 5 at Baxter Healthcare Corporation located at 1900 Highway 201 North in Mountain Home. May typically sees lower appointments for donations and can be taxing on the blood supply.

Other opportunities this month in Mountain Home include:

– Baxter Health from 11 to 5 on Friday;

– Good Samaritan Society Mountain Home on May 30 from 9 to 1;

– Baxter County Library on May 30 from 9:30 to 1:30; and

– VFW Ozark Post #3246 from 11:30 to 3:30.

The Red Cross will have other opportunities to donate blood around the Twin Lakes Area including:

– Harrison City Hall on May 30 from 10 to 2;

– Independent Living Inc. on June 6 from 10 to 2;

– Boone County Library on June 7 from 10 to 2;

– Salem Church of Christ on Tuesday from noon to 4; and

– in Calico Rock at the Izard Regional Hospital on May 29 from 10 to 2.

All blood types, especially Type O blood and platelets, are needed.

Blood and platelet donors can save time by using RapidPass to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online on the day of their donation. To get started, visit RedCrossBlood.org/.RapidPass or use the Blood Donor App.

The Red Cross has partnered with Tetris, to celebrate their 40th anniversary and build the blood supply. Donors who give from May 20 to June 9 will receive an exclusive Tetris + Red Cross T-shirt while supplies last, and be automatically entered for a chance to win a trip for two to New York to meet Tetris creator, Alexey Pajitnov.

To schedule an appointment, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS or download the Red Cross Blood Donor App. For more information on Red Cross’ partnership with Tetris, visit RedCrossBlood.org/Tetris.
