The Cotter City Council will hold a public hearing before the regular council meeting Thursday night for public comment before the council votes to approve a bond ordinance to approve financing for the Sewer Rehabilitation Project.
In regular session, the council will consider placing Ordinance 2024-01 on its third and final reading to increase Water Rates to comply with ACT 605 by July 1, 2024, as recommended by rate study performed by Arkansas Rural Water Association dated January 26, 2024;
– hear a presentation of the 2023 water and sewer audit;
– consider a budget resolution to receive a $10,000 donation to the Cotter Police Department from new resident William Hungate;
– consider a resolution to apply for a $7,000 grant from the USDA for the Cotter Fire Department to purchase ten new radios and pagers in the amount of $14,450;
– consider an ordinance authorizing the issuance of a Sales and Use Tax and Water and Sewer Revenue Bond in the maximum principal amount of $2,196,000 for the purpose of financing a portion of the cost of betterments and improvements to the City’s sewer system;
– approval to accept a change order from Crawford Electric for existing electrical service upgrades at Well House required by Entergy to meet current code for new generator installation; and
– consideration to move June’s regular meeting due to Recorder/Treasurer schedule conflict.
