That was Jack Fortner during his final broadcast of “Jack the Car Guy” on KTLO-FM. The show carried every Saturday morning at 8 for nearly 15 years came to end this weekend.
Fortner says the idea for his program came one weekend when he came to the studios. His late wife, Pam, was recording an episode of the Talk of the Town, and he came to meet the late Bob Knight.

The show’s reach has gone well beyond the Twin Lakes Area. Thanks to KTLO-FM being available for livestream, Fortner says he has been able to reach an international audience.

Over the years, Jack the Car Guy has also had its share of guests come on the show for interviews. Fortner says one guest that comes to mind is NASCAR Vice Chairman Mike Helton.

In addition to his time as a radio host, Fortner is also serving his fourth term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. This will be his final term after deciding not to run for reelection. He says that will give him more time to do some traveling.
