Sunday’s early morning storms have led to uprooted trees, broken power poles, road closures and thousands of area residents without power. A confirmed tornado was reported in areas of Marion and Boone counties.

As of 6:15, North Arkansas Electric Cooperative reported 16,353 outages in Baxter County, 804 in Marion County, 3,353 in Fulton County and 129 in Izard County.

Entergy Arkansas has 4,805 outages in Baxter County, 7,147 in Marion County, 32 in Searcy County, four in Stone County, 2,953 in Boone County and two in Newton County.

For White River Valley Electric Cooperative, 32 outages were reported in Ozark County, 13 in Boone County, 2,676 in Taney County and six in Douglas County.

Sunday’s storms have reportedly damaged the roof at West End Social. In addition, a traffic signal at the intersection with U.S. Highway 62B and Bomber Boulevard is sitting horizontal, and another traffic signal has been turned around at Highway 62B and Arkansas Highway 5 North. The signage has been damaged to Bank OZK on Highway 5 North, and the portion of the walking trail from Arkansas State University-Mountain Home to McCabe Park going underneath the bridge on the Sheid-Hopper Bypass is reportedly flooded.

Several trees have been uprooted in the area. There was a report of a tree landing on a residence in an area around Norfork and Salesville. A listener called and stated a tree was down and blocking the roadway on Coley Drive in Mountain Home.

Power poles have also been broken. Marion County Judge Jason Stumph says multiple roadways are closed with power lines laying across, and some individuals have been trapped in the area.
