AAA announces new conferences for spring sports

The Arkansas Activities Association has announced its new conference alignments for spring sports. The new alignments will take effect in the upcoming school year.

Mountain Home’s baseball and softball teams will remain in the 5A-West with one change. Farmington will be the newcomer as they move up from Class 4A. Greenbrier will move over to the 5A-Central.

The baseball and softball teams at Cotter and Ozark Mountain will remain in the 2A-1. The Warriors and Bears will be joined by Decatur and Mountainburg for both sports. Alpena, Ozark Catholic and Life Way Christian will also be in the league for baseball.

The 1A-2 will remain the same for baseball and softball. Norfork will be joined by Viola, Calico Rock, Rural Special, Shirley, Greers Ferry West Side and Concord.

The baseball and softball teams at Flippin, Yellville-Summit, Bergman and Valley Springs will be the newcomers of the 3A-2 as they join up with Salem, Melbourne, Mountain View and Cave City. Flippin, Bergman and Valley Springs will move over from the 3A-1, and Yellville-Summit is jumping up from Class 2A.

Mammoth Spring and Marshall will be two of the newest members, along with Tuckerman, in the 2A-2 for baseball and softball. They’ll join up with Izard County, Sloan-Hendrix and Cedar Ridge. Mammoth Spring is moving up from Class 1A, and Marshall will move over from the 2A-1.

The baseball and softball teams at Lead Hill, Omaha and Jasper will be in the 1A-1 for baseball and softball. The four-team league also includes Deer/Mount Judea.

Mountain Home and Harrison will also remain in the 5A-West for soccer. The conference will feature eight boys’ teams and nine girls’ teams. Both Farmington teams and Shiloh Christian’s girls will move up from Class 4A. Greenbrier will exit for the 5A-Central.

Mountain View’s soccer teams will stay in the 3A-North. The Yellowjackets will be joined by Cave City, White County Central Riverview, St. Joseph, Conway Christian, Crowley’s Ridge Academy and Buffalo Island Central.

The new alignments will remain in effect through the spring of 2026.
