May 31 is normally the deadline for Arkansans to have their personal property assessed without penalty, but for portions of north central Arkansas, the deadline has been extended. On Thursday, Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed an executive order stating residents of Baxter, Marion, Fulton and Boone counties are among 13 in the state in which residents can have their property assessed by June 30 without being delinquent.
The order comes after Sunday’s tornadoes, severe storms and flooding caused hardship to a portion of Arkansas. A regional emergency was declared as a result of the severe weather outbreak.
Gov. Sanders’ order also extends to Benton, Carroll, Grant, Greene, Madison, Nevada, Randolph, Sevier and Sharp counties.
