The National Weather Service has confirmed two more tornadoes in the area from Sunday morning’s severe storms, one in Ozark County and one in Fulton County.
OZARK COUNTY TORNADO
A survey team from the National Weather Service in Springfield says an EF0 tornado hit northern Ozark County. The twister, with peak winds of 80 miles-per-hour, started over the Caney Mountain Conservation Area east of Willhoit, about 11 miles north of Gainesville, and travelled northeast for almost five miles.
The tornado uprooted several trees and snapped large limbs along its path. A tornado debris signature was present on radar for the duration of this tornado which began at 4:19 Sunday morning.
No injuries or property damage has been reported from that tornado.
FULTON COUNTY TORNADO
The Fulton County tornado began near the intersection of U.S. Highway 62/412 East and Squirrel Hill Road, about 3 to 4 miles southeast of Salem, knocking down power poles and at least 50 trees.
The tornado continued eastward along Squirrel Hill Road downing numerous trees. One of these trees fell on a home causing damage to the roof.
The path of this tornado crossed mainly forested land.
The tornado lifted before reaching the split between Squirrel Hill Road and Deer Bend Trail.
This tornado was rated an EF1 with maximum estimated winds of 100 mph.
