The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas will provide multiple distribution sites in areas devastated by last weekend’s storms. Representatives will be at six locations over a five-day period with disaster replacement food kits.
On Saturday, the Food Bank will be stationed at the Valley Springs Fire Department from 10 to noon and the Harmon Fire Department from 2 to 4. Monday’s distribution sites will be the Pyatt Fire Department from 10 to noon and the Marion County Fairgrounds in Summit from 2 to 4. On Wednesday, the Food Bank will be at the Salesville Fire Department from 10 to noon and the Hand Cove Fire Department from 2 to 4.
Resources provided at each station include a 25-pound box of shelf-stable food, 12 pounds of frozen beef, catfish and chicken, five pounds of fresh apples and peaches, a case of bottled water, gift cards and personal hygiene products.
Food Bank representatives will also assist SNAP recipients with their Declaration of Food Loss application to receive additional assistance through the Department of Human Services and the SNAP program.
