As Brian Gerwig is preparing for his third season as the head volleyball coach at Arkansas State, he is excited about the additions to his roster and his coaching staff. Gerwig was among the university’s representatives as the Howl on Wheels Red Wolves Road Show made a stop Friday at Rapp’s Barren Brewing Company in downtown Mountain Home.
Prior to addressing the crowd, Gerwig told KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot Sports he considers the volleyball program to be in a “building cycle.”

A-State finished 2023 with a record of 16-15 overall and 5-11 in the Sun Belt Conference. The Red Wolves made the postseason as they were selected for the National Invitational Volleyball Championship. They lost their first round match to Wichita State in straight sets.
Gerwig says competing in a tough Sun Belt Conference is a challenge he looks forward to every year.

Mountain Home was the fifth stop on the Howl on Wheels Red Wolves Road Show. The tour began two weeks ago in Memphis and made stops in Paragould, Little Rock and Jonesboro. The final stop is coming up June 18 at Gearhead Outfitters in Fayetteville.
