Two Fulton County men have been arrested after surveillance found them stealing property from storage units.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on May 21, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a theft at some storage units along U.S. Highway 62 East in Salem. Upon arrival, the owner of the units showed deputies video footage of the theft.

The video footage showed two males, later identified as 46-year-old Floyd Galbraith and 60-year-old Kendall Tuller, entering the property in a Ford Ranger with front-end damage. Both men exited the truck and began to load a cement mixer, which was sitting in front of the building for sale. After loading the mixer, Tuller was seen backing the the truck up to a small bumper-pull trailer with a welder mounted to it before both men left the property.

The owner stated the welder had recently been marked as sold.

Deputies contacted Galbraith’s parole officer, who stated he was overdue for a visit. When he arrived at the parole officer’s office, deputies observed the same Ford Ranger in the parking lot as the one on the surveillance video. Deputies approached the vehicle, where they observed Tuller sitting in the driver’s seat. Both men were placed under arrest.

During questioning, Galbraith stated he believed the items were sitting out from what was left over from a yard sale and was free to take. He said the items were sitting at the residence in Glencoe. Deputies recovered the trailer and welder but could not locate the mixer.

Galbraith and Tuller were booked into the Fulton County Detention Center, where they each face a felony count for property theft. Galbraith is currently being held on a $5,000 bond. Tuller was released on a bond of $5,000.
