A man is accused of breaking into two residences in Baxter County last month. Thirty-eight-year-old Dylan Ivey was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on the early morning of May 20 on multiple charges.
According to an incident report, a Baxter County deputy was dispatched to Buzzard Roost Road for a report of a possible residential burglary in progress. While the deputy was en route, another call for a burglary came in at a nearby residence on Christopher Lane with possibly the same suspect. Just before the deputy pulled into the driveway, 911 dispatch advised the male subject had broken into the residence and screamed about someone attempting to kill him.
The deputy arrived, along with a Mountain Home Police Department vehicle, and observed a male coming out of the front door yelling about people trying to kill him. The deputy drew a Taser, but the male reportedly continued and asked authorities if they could see the person next to him with a gun. The deputy stated in the report there was no one next to the suspect, identified as Ivey. The deputy held Ivey at Taser point while the Mountain Home officer handcuffed him.
Ivey was placed in the patrol vehicle of another deputy arriving on the scene. The reporting deputy went into the Christopher Lane home and was told by the residents they were sitting inside when Ivey allegedly swung the door open, went inside and screamed at them. Neither one of the residents claimed to know Ivey, but they were reportedly afraid he was going to hurt them.
The deputy then went to the Buzzard Roost home, and the resident accused Ivey of knocking over multiple items while attempting to break in. Ivey’s phone was recovered in front of the door. In addition, his truck was located across the road at one of the pumps of a gas station.
Ivey is facing charges of third-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief, criminal trespass on land outside city limits, disorderly conduct and public intoxication. He is free on a bond of $1,680.
