Storms result in downed trees, multiple power outages in southern Missouri

Sunday’s early morning storms in southern Missouri resulted in a few trees coming down in Ozark County and several members of White River Valley Electric Cooperative without power.

According to a dispatch spokesperson from the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, three trees were knocked over. Two trees were removed by the Missouri Department of Transportation, and the other was removed by county crews.

As of 8 Sunday morning, 342 of White River Valley’s members in Ozark County, 96 in Douglas County and one in Taney County were without power.

In addition, a flash flood warning is in effect for northeastern Ozark County, Howell County and eastern Douglas County until 12:45 Sunday afternoon.
