A Harrison man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck Friday evening in Washington County. Twenty-nine-year-old Eric McFarland was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Arkansas State Police, McFarland was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 412 near Blue Springs Road at Sonora, a community located east of Springdale, when a driver of a pickup truck was attempting to cross U.S. Hwy 412 from Blue Springs Road and pulled out in front of McFarland. McFarland was unable to slow down to avoid impact and struck the rear end of the pickup truck on the driver’s side. The unidentified driver of the truck was not injured.
The road was dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the 6:23 p.m. accident.
