Missouri woman killed in single vehicle accident in Ozark Co., child injured

A Norwood, Mo. woman was killed, and a ten-year-old boy was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident late Monday night in Ozark County.

According to the incident report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 31-year-old Holly Cooke was traveling southbound on Missouri Highway 5, six miles northwest of Gainesville, when at approximately 9:58 at night her vehicle struck a cow in the roadway.

Cooke was pronounced dead at the scene by Ozark County Coroner. The child was transported by helicopter to Mercy Children’s Hospital in Springfield for treatment.

According to a report from KYTV, the boy was released from the hospital and is now safe with his family.
