Residents in Marion County who sustained damage from the May tornadoes now have one location with multiple agencies located under one roof to assist them.

According to Marion County Director of Emergency Management Melissa Penn, FEMA, the Small Business Association, the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services and the Arkansas Department of Health will be located at in the upper level of the Marion County Fairgrounds Community Building until further notice.

The center, located at 513 East Seawell in Summit, will be open from 8 until 6 every day until further notice, with the exception of federal and state observed holidays. Multiple agencies will be onsite to help answer the community’s questions, help solve problems with individual applications and assist in submission of documents being requested.

Marion County residents are not the only ones who can visit this center. Anyone with property damages in any of the counties listed on the Federal Declaration can visit with the teams available.

Penn states she has received reports of 113 properties damaged in these storms for Marion County, as of June 19 and says she knows there are more who have not been reported to her. The last report from FEMA showed 165 registrations had been received.

A Facebook page has been created to assist the public in getting information directly relating to the storm and recovery efforts at “Marion County, AR Office of Emergency Management.”
