The Fulton County Hospital in Salem will continue to see improvements thanks to the latest round of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. The Fulton County Hospital already received $2.5 million in ARPA funding and got another $2.5 this go around.
The hospital has been under a management agreement with Baxter Health in Mountain Home since Aug. 15 of last year and will become a member of the Baxter Health family Jan. 1. Baxter Health President and CEO Ron Peterson says things are beginning to turn around.

Peterson says one of the first things they did was make improvements to the computer system that handled billing to improve the revenue cycle to help “stop the bleeding.”
He says another major undertaking was improvements to the building itself.

Peterson says they have also been purchasing patient care equipment and enhancing cyber security at the hospital.
They have also been working to increase the number of medical services provided at the Fulton County Hospital.
