The public is invited to visit the Baxter County Airport terminal building Saturday morning from 11 to 1 for a hot dog lunch with refreshments to celebrate the recently completed remodel of the terminal. Hosted by the Airport Commissioners and the airport administrator, the event will highlight the new look of the building with information on new activities and projects planned at the airport.

The newly redecorated terminal building houses the airport administration office, a conference room, a large lobby and leisure area, several office spaces, the Civil Air Patrol and the Leading Edge Aviation Foundation.

The airport operations, investments and visitors contribute up to $9 million of economic activity benefits to Baxter County. Medical flights, military aircraft, businesses and tourists use the airport as a vital link to stay connected. Federal and state money grants were used in the remodel project to employ local crafts people and purchase materials from local suppliers.

Future projects are in the works to expand the airport’s runways and taxi ways with the hopes of improving service and creating new opportunities for local residents and businesses.

The Baxter County Airport is located at 6462 Highway 126 in Midway. For more information, call 870-481-5418.
