The Arkansas Attorney General’s Office has issued a consumer alert regarding fraudulent callers claiming to be law enforcement officers.

The scammers claim that the person they have called has committed a criminal offense and pressures them into paying to avoid a trial.

Attorney General Tim Griffin said law enforcement agencies do not ask people to send money for fees or fines by wire transfer, prepaid debit cards, or gift cards.

He has stressed that residents should not give any personal or payment information over the phone.

If you have received one of these calls, you can report this call to the online reporting form.
