Little Rock man dead after four hour standoff in Prairie County

A Little Rock man is dead after a standoff with Arkansas State Police in DeValls Bluff in Prairie County.Officers were attempting to serve a warrant on a 32-year-old, when the suspect began firing a gun at them around 9:30 Thursday morning. The suspect barricaded himself inside a home on East Walnut Street in DeValls Bluff, which is about 50 miles east of Little Rock.

The fugitive exchanged gun fire with authorities, including the U.S. Marshals and Arkansas State Police, for approximately four hours before receiving a fatal gunshot wound. No officers were injured during the shootout.

Though information about the suspect has yet to be released, reports show that he was wanted on several felony warrants out of Little Rock, Sherwood, and Pulaski County.
