Another scam is being reported by the Izard County Sheriff’s Office. According to Sheriff Charley Melton, his office has been informed of individuals receiving calls from a person claiming to be from Entergy.
The scammer is allegedly telling the targets their power is going to be shut off. The caller is even leaving messages asking the potential victim to call back. In cases like this in the past, the caller demands payment by phone. Sheriff Melton says the caller is not from Entergy.
Anyone with questions about utility bills should call the number listed on one of the previous bills and inquire. To report a scam, the Izard County Sheriff’s Office can be contacted at 870-368-4203.
