Two Ozark Co. residents injured in two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon

Two Ozark County residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon along Missouri Highway 5, ten miles south of Ava.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 70-year-old Phillip Wood of Wasola, Mo. was traveling southbound on Mo. Hwy. 5 when he attempted to make a left hand turn onto Missouri Highway 95, when he struck a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Clarissa Allen of Mountain Home. Allen was not reported to be injured.

Wood was transported by ambulance to CoxHealth South in Springfield. His occupant, 65-year-old Harold Brookover of Wasola, Mo. was transported by Air Evac to CoxHealth South in Springfield. According to the report, both Wood and Brookover sustained moderate injuries.
