MH boys are 2nd, girls are 3rd after 1st round of Ultimate Auto Group High School Invitational

The first day of high school athletics in Arkansas concluded Monday with Mountain Home hosting the opening round of the Ultimate Auto Group High School Invitational at Big Creek Golf and Country Club.

The Bombers are currently in second place on the boys’ side with a team total of 313. The Bombers are trailing Harrison on the team leaderboard by nine strokes. Russellville is third at 316, Alma is fourth at 323, Van Buren is fifth at 332, Shiloh Christian is sixth at 344, Greenwood is seventh at 345, Mountain Home’s gold team is eighth at 346, Flippin is ninth at 348, Providence Academy is 10th at 367, Harrison’s gold team is 11th at 373, Siloam Springs is 12th at 391, and Bergman is 13th at 427.

Berkley Knapp of Harrison is the individual leader with a one-under-par 71. Ian Ellison is Mountain Home’s top golfer with a 76, Sam Wynn shot a 77, and Teagan Booy led the Mountain Home gold team with a 79. Hudson Lindsey led Flippin with an 80, and Sawyer Schubert had a 96 for Bergman.

The Lady Bombers are third in the girls’ team standings with a team total of 300. Russellville is at the top of the team leaderboard at 234, Shiloh Christian is second at 287, Harrison is fourth at 308, and Greenwood is fifth at 321.

Russellville’s Susanna Manns is the individual leader with an even-par 72. Mountain Home was led by Abby Edens with an 86, Anna Torres shot a 99, and Ashley Smith had a 115. Hallie Chism represented Bergman with a 127. Ella Ramsey led Harrison with a 101.

The final round of the tournament will get underway Tuesday morning. Tee time is scheduled for 8.
