150 firefighters from across the country gathered in Little Rock on 9/11 for the ‘First In Fire Conference.’The conference began at 7:46, the moment the first plane hit the World Trade Center in New York on the same day 23 years ago.
In the conference, firefighters receive hands-on training and lectures designed to help firefighters become better leaders.
“What’s special about today is 9/11. We’re remembering what happened in 2001, when 344 firefighters lost their lives,” First In Fire Conference owner Ryan McCormick said. “We are given the ability to learn… the next time there’s a need for the fire service.”
The First In Fire Conference continues through Saturday.
