A group of volunteers is on a mission to teach the community about the natural resources in the area. The North Central Arkansas Master Naturalists is inviting anyone who enjoys exploring nature to “go wild” with them.

Chapter President Beth Kennedy and Training Coordinator Terri May were recent guests of the Talk of the Town on KTLO-FM. Kennedy says the volunteer hours contributed by the organization convert into monetary value for the agencies they work with.

According to the organization, master naturalists’ volunteer efforts revolve around preserving and promoting nature. They build and maintain hiking trails, assess water quality of area creeks, teach children and their families about nature, look after several pollinator and wildlife meadows and gardens and assist partner agencies and organizations with other projects.

May says the North Central Arkansas Master Naturalists are excited about the classes they have coming up.
