A man is accused of shooting out the tires of another male’s vehicle after they got into an argument. Forty-six-year-old Scott Bouvier is facing a count of aggravated assault on a family or household member.

According to an incident report, a Baxter County deputy was dispatched Tuesday to a residence between Midway and Lakeview on Hiawatha Lane. While in route, 911 dispatch advised the deputy the caller stated the other male took his truck because the caller wouldn’t let him leave in his own vehicle. The caller had reportedly shot the other male’s tires with a 9-millimeter pistol.

The deputy arrived and met with the caller, identified as Bouvier, and he had a weapon in his pocket. Bouvier followed the deputy’s instruction to place the weapon on the trunk of a nearby vehicle. He claimed the second male was upset after the surgery of a third male they knew was postponed. Bouvier stated he and the other male went to the third male’s residence, and after an altercation began between the second and third males, he got the situation de-escalated and drove the second male home.

Bouvier states after they arrived, the second male wanted to leave the residence again in his vehicle. Bouvier said he didn’t think that was a good idea, and he fired two rounds into the rear driver’s side tire, causing it to go flat. Bouvier alleged his truck was then taken by the second male.

A female on the scene advised she was on the phone with the second male, who wanted to speak with an officer on the scene. The deputy talked to the second male, who denied taking Bouvier’s truck and repeatedly asked if he was going to jail. The deputy said an investigator was on the way to process the scene and review statements. The second male said he was only 30 seconds away and was on his way back to the residence.

The second male returned after being driven by a friend. The deputy asked where Bouvier’s truck was, and he stated it was at a friend’s residence. The second male then confirmed Bouvier’s account that he was upset about the postponement of the third male’s surgery, and Bouvier shot out his other tire to keep him from leaving when they return to the residence.

The investigator soon arrived, and after he reviewed the statement forms and crime scene, he determined Bouvier should be arrested. Prior to being transported to the Baxter County Detention Center, the deputy advised Bouvier a no-contact order would go into effect preventing him from going near the second male.

Bouvier is currently free on a bond of $5,000.
