A Boone County woman is facing felony charges after allegedly making approximately 108 purchases on a credit card that was not hers.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim contacted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office on August 22 to report her credit card being stolen. The victim told authorities the last day she remembered having her credit card was July 7. The statement provided to deputies showed fraudulent charges beginning on July 13 and continuing through the day she filed her report. The statement showed approximately 108 purchases made before the victim discovered her account had been compromised.
The victim told authorities she believed she must have dropped her card somewhere but was unsure where. The statement showed unauthorized purchases of over $3,700 since her last use. Frequent charges showed a Dollar General on Capps Road, Walmart of Harrison, and a variety of fast food restaurants.
During the investigation, deputies observed a purchase made at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Harrison under an account labeled “K. Gray.” CCTV footage from Walmart showed the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Korenthia Gray, using the victim’s credit card in the store on multiple occasions.
Gray was booked into the Boone County Detention Center on felony charges of fraudulent use of a credit card and theft of property. She was released on a $8,000 bond.
