Entergy Arkansas officials say about 160 crew members will be sent to parts of Georgia to provide technical assistance for those affected by Tropical Storm Helene.

Entergy officials say they are ready to help. “That not only includes here in Arkansas but also in other parts of the country and so we are sending a crew of about 160 people down there to help out with the hurricane relief efforts in the Georgia area around Atlanta, Georgia.” said Matt Ramsey, an Entergy Arkansas Spokesperson.

Relief efforts include everything from fixing broken powerlines to restoring power if it is lost.

The Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas are also sending crew members down to Florida to help repair any damages caused by Helene.

“The men will be there anticipating power outages. We certainly hope they do not have any. Within the case that they do our men will be ready to respond as quickly and safely as possible,” Rob Roedel, Senior Director for Arkansas Electric Cooperative Cooperation said.

The remnants of the hurricane in an upper level storm system could bring several inches of rain to parts of Arkansas this weekend.
