The Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class will host a Workforce Development Summit on October 18 at 8 in the Trout Room of the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the campus of Arkansas State University of Mountain Home (ASUMH). The event will feature keynote speaker, President of the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce, Randy Zook who will deliver an in-depth presentation on the importance of workforce development in the state.
This event seeks to unite local business leaders to identify and remedy workforce challenges in the area. The summit is made possible through a grant from Entergy Arkansas. They recently donated $1,000 to the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce in philanthropic giving to support the Leadership Class initiative to enhance the workforce in Baxter County.
Chan Crooker, Senior Vice President of Lending at Century Bank of the Ozarks and a member of the Chamber Leadership Class, states, “The Chamber Leadership Class is excited to bring this informative event to the Twin Lakes area. Finding and implementing solutions to workforce challenges in Baxter County will open up greater economic opportunities to strengthen the community. Mr. Zook’s extensive knowledge of Arkansas’s economy will provide attendees with valuable insights into how the statewide Chamber of Commerce fosters new business opportunities across the state.”
The agenda includes discussion panels led by local business leaders, a comprehensive report on Arkansas’s economic landscape. Additionally, resources will be available to assist attendees in enrolling in the ACT WorkKeys program and the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).
Registration must be completed by October 11. Interested participants can register at bit.ly/MHWorkReady24. For more information, please contact Rachel Young at rachel@enjoymountainhome.com or by calling 870-425-5111.
