Friday night ended with the first loss of the season for the Mountain Home High School football team. The Bombers fell at home to Shiloh Christian 37-13.

The Saints struck first as the opening drive of the game ended 49 second into the game on a 40-yard touchdown run. The remainder of the opening quarter was a defensive battle. Mountain Home cut the margin to one nearly a minute-and-a-half into the second period on a one-yard run by Jacob Chenowith. The only other score in the quarter was a Shiloh Christian field goal with 1:15 left in the half, and the Saints went into the locker room at halftime up four.

Shiloh Christian’s offense was more alive in the second half as they began with back-to-back touchdowns. Brantlee Phillips provided a two-yard touchdown for the Bombers late in the third quarter, but that would be the last score they would get. The Saints added two more touchdowns in the final period and went on to win by 24.

Mountain Home falls to 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in the 6A-West. Shiloh Christian improves to 3-2 and 1-1.

The Bombers will be in the Arkansas River Valley next week for a matchup with Russellville.
