A man who has had 11 criminal cases opened on him in the last 21 years made another appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on October 7.
Fifty-seven-year-old Thomas Bruce Wheeler pled guilty to the charges against him and was sentenced to 10 years in prison to be followed by five years on probation.
His most recent arrest came in late March when Baxter County sheriff’s deputies and officers from Arkansas Community Corrections conducted a compliance visit at Wheeler’s home located along County Road 995.
At the time of the visit, Wheeler was on parole.
The officers found smoking devices, Acetaminophen-Hydrocodone pills, a small quantity of methamphetamine, two grams of psilocybin mushrooms, a set of digital scales and a handgun.
He pled guilty to possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
He has also been charged with drug-related offenses in Izard County. Court records show the Izard County case to be closed.
