Baxter Health recently announced the addition of cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Natalie Ostro to its medical staff at the Baxter Health Heart and Vascular Clinic. Dr. Ostro will be joining a team of specialists that includes Dr. F. Michael Bauer, Dr. James Munns, Dr. Nestor Arita, Dr. Heath Broussard, Dr. Kent Nachtigal, and nurse practitioners Kathleen Prinner and Jeanne Marotta.
Dr. Ostro recently completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at NYU Langone Health in New York City, where she gained expertise in various vascular conditions. Her specialties include coronary artery bypass surgery, valve repair and replacement, and robotic thoracic surgery. She also completed elective rotations in surgical oncology, thoracic oncology, trauma surgery, and thoracic surgery.
Dr. Ostro’s medical training includes an internship and residency in surgery at The Stanley J. Dudrick Department
of Surgery at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Saint George’s University in Grenada and her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
Outside of her medical career, Dr. Ostro enjoys hiking, outdoor activities, and spending time with her husband, Dimitry, their children, Roman and Mary Claire, and their two dogs.
