The Baxter County Historical and Genealogical Society will host their monthly meeting on Tuesday night featuring local radio personality Brad Haworth. The event, which begins at 6 at the Donald W. Reynolds Library serving Baxter County, will focus on Haworth’s life and career, as well as his recovery from long COVID.Haworth, a longtime voice at KTLO Radio, spent 34 years on air and was named the Associated Press’s top play-by-play announcer in Arkansas more than 20 times. He also served as the voice of Bomber Athletics and was inducted into the Sports Hall of Honor in 2018.

In 2020, Haworth’s life changed when he contracted a serious case of COVID-19, leading to long-term health complications. His story of resilience is expected to resonate with attendees.

Sonny Sharp, a member of the Historical Society, says “We’re hoping for a good crowd. It should be an inspirational story.”

The event is open to the public. Donations to support the nonprofit Historical Society, which recently raised over $2,000 for the new Baxter County Historical Museum, are appreciated. The meeting will take place in the first room to the right upon entering the library.
