John Randal Tyson, the former CFO of Tyson Foods, pleaded guilty to charges of driving while intoxicated and careless driving.

This comes after his arrest in June when Tyson was filmed on body camera admitting to a University of Arkansas Police Department officer that he had “six or seven” drinks. Upon taking a breathalyzer test, Tyson blew .191 which is over twice the legal limit of 0.8.

This wasn’t Tyson’s first run-in with law enforcement. The former CFO plead guilty to criminal trespass and public intoxication early 2023 after a college-aged woman came home and found a “strange man,” later identified as John Randal Tyson, asleep in her bed.

Tyson, who is the great grandson of the company’s founder, entered his plea for the DWI charges on Thursday. He has been ordered to pay $820 in fines and fees and complete 32 hours of community service.

John R. Tyson, a fourth-generation member of the Tyson family, was hired by the Tyson company in 2019. Following his arrest, the company suspended Tyson from his CFO role in June and Tyson Finance Executive Kurt Calloway was appointed as the new CFO in August.
