The Mountain Home Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) recently received a generous donation of $1,302.08 through the Twin Lakes Community Foundation, highlighting the vital role community support plays in shaping the future of our youth. This contribution underscores the importance of NJROTC in the local high school and showcases the deep-rooted connections within the Twin Lakes community.

Donor Patricia Dondanville shared why she chose to support the NJROTC program. “We realized we were donating to the right group. Since we started donating, the program has grown and earned awards,” she said.

The Dondanvilles’ initial plans were to share donations with various groups. However, once they found out many of the organizations they were considering had enough funding, they decided to focus on Mountain Home’s NJROTC. As a military family, the Dondanvilles feel a special connection to the values and discipline of NJROTC, making their support even more meaningful to the cadets.

NJROTC is not just about military training; it emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and community service, preparing young men and women for their future endeavors, whether in the military or the civilian workforce. The funds from this donation will be instrumental in helping the Bomber Battalion acquire much-needed charter bus services for transporting the drill teams to All High School Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida, later this spring.

This generous gift reflects the strong partnership between the Twin Lakes Community Foundation and local programs dedicated to helping our youth develop. The donation represents not only a financial gift but also a commitment to fostering excellence in youth programs that shape our future. With ongoing support from donors like the Dondanvilles, the Mountain Home NJROTC Bomber Battalion can keep inspiring the next generation of leaders. The community’s investment in the NJROTC will undoubtedly yield positive results for years to come.
